Choquequirao - Vilcabamba Trek

Choquequirao, Vilcabamba
4 days
Kim MacQuarry

Journey deep within the Vilcambamba mountains to discover for yourself what the Spanish invaders were never able to find: the “Cradle of Gold”.

Surrounded by sacred mountains within the Southern Andes and located 3,100m above sea level, Choquequirao is isolated deep within the mystical Vilcambamba mountain range. This challenging 4 day trek takes you on a path towards what many have deemed the sister city of Machu Picchu for its appearance and historical significance. Traverse through the rich Andean landscapes filled with regional flora and fauna, witness the panoramic views of the Andean mountains, and experience the breathtaking Incan ruin undisturbed by large crowds.

We specialize in complete travel packages that allow you to enjoy your travels while we handle the logistics. This service is only available as part of a full itinerary including all hotels, tours and ground transportation.
