Lima Luxury Hotel Review: JW Marriott Lima

December 13, 2023 by Anabel

Positioned on the coast of Miraflores, the JW Marriott Lima is the hotel we recommend to travelers seeking comfortable quarters with 5-star amenities in the heart of Lima’s trendiest neighborhood.

Right across the street, the popular Larcomar shopping center provides plenty of options for shopping, dining, and entertainment including a cinema and bowling alley. Within walking distance, you have a smattering of the city’s foodie favorite restaurants to choose from including the much-in-demand Central and La Mar.

On the second floor of the hotel, the JW Sushi Ceviche Lounge will tempt you to stay in and sample from the menu of freshly prepared maki, sushi, tiraditos and ceviche with exquisite handcrafted cocktails to match. The good thing is you have options and that’s one of the huge selling points of this luxury Lima hotel.

From the moment you walk through the door into the spacious lobby, the dedicated staff go the extra mile to provide the kind of friendly, but professional service that makes you feel at home. Check-in is fast. And it’s worth noting that all rooms have ocean views, which means you can bask in oceanfront views without leaving your bed. Of course, higher floor rooms have the best views and corner rooms allow a peek of the city, too.

Standard room features are what you would expect from the Marriott brand: LCD television with cable, minibar, bathrobes, private bathroom with separate bathtub and shower with designer toiletries and hair dryers. Caffeine lover? The in-room Illy coffee machine will perk you right up.

Built with tech-savvy travelers in mind, every room counts with about a dozen power outlets as well as an iPod dock alarm clock and cables to sync the TV with your laptop or tablet.

Suites at the JW Marriott also include a separate sitting area with sofa. Guests booked in executive rooms and suites enjoy exclusive access to the private lounge on the 24th floor. Lounge service includes free breakfast, light lunch and dinner offerings, as well as wine and cheese throughout the day.

The seasonal open-air swimming pool is available during the warmer months between December and April. The health club is open year round and includes a full-service spa, sauna, steam room, and gym with cardiovascular equipment and free weights.
